Reef Royalty

The Reef Royalty Contest is held at the world-class Nahoon Reef, a renowned right-hand point break. Known for its powerful, long-running right-hand waves, Nahoon Reef is the crown jewel of the East London surfing community and a favorite among surfers worldwide.

The Reef Royalty contest is accreditted by the World Waveski Surfing Association, allowing local and international competitors to rack up valued WWSA ranking points that will assist with competitor seeding for the 2026 World Waveski Surfing Titles, held in Peru.

New for 2025, Reef Royalty will also be hosting an Open Stand Up Paddling (SUP) division—a first-of-its-kind integration at this event. This exciting addition turns Reef Royalty into a true festival of paddles at Nahoon.

Dates: 13 – 16 June 2025

The Reef Royalty Contest will be live-streamed, bringing all the action straight to screens around the world. We’ll be running on the LiveHeats platform, with professional, accredited judges and a priority system to ensure top-level competitive standards. Safety is always a priority, with the NSRI on standby, and we’ll be kicking off in style with an official opening ceremony and exclusive Reef Royalty event caps for competitors.
